About

Molly Baugh is an Assistant Professor of Music Education and Instrumental Music at Indiana University Southeast where she directs the IU Southeast Orchestra, coordinates the music department, and teaches courses in music education, music theory, and conducting. With 13 years of experience as an elementary, middle, and high school orchestra director, Dr. Baugh is dedicated to supporting pre-service and in-service music educators by building bridges between theory and practice. She has presented on topics of string pedagogy, intonation, rehearsal techniques, rehearsal planning, music theory pedagogy, and music literacy at state and national conferences.

Dr. Baugh’s research interests include intonation and auditory-motor integration in string performance, and the experiences of cooperating teachers in the music classroom. An active clinician and conductor, Dr. Baugh has led school orchestras in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas. Dr. Baugh holds a PhD in music education from the University of Michigan, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in music education from the University of Oklahoma. When not following academic pursuits, she enjoys running and drinking loose leaf tea.
