Will Knauth

I am the Digital Archivist for the Indiana Geological and Water Survey (IGWS). In this role I administer and develop the Surveys digital asset management system, the IGWS Digital Collections. I support the accessibility, discoverability, and preservation of our organization’s digital collections materials through policies and infrastructure for effective data handling and metadata description in accordance with the survey’s mission. I am also responsible for DAMS staff training, technical support, and documentation. I joined the survey with a professional background centered on digital technology in the archival and cultural heritage field. In 2016, I earned an MSLS from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, focusing on archives, 3D imaging, and digital humanities, I also hold a B.A. degree from UNC with a major in History. A major professional objective of his is to employ digital technology to ensure and augment for posterity the enduring value of cultural and geo-science artifacts and collections.
